NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch Loses License for going 128MPH in a Lexus LFA Tester

Oh the irony…Less than 24 hours after Toyota released a new promotional video with NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch promoting the new 2012 Camry Hybrid on the Daytona race track, the 26-year old is making headlines again, this time for losing his driver's license for 45 days for speeding in a Lexus LFA test car.

Busch pleaded guilty to speeding and no contest to reckless driving in North Carolina after he was nabbed earlier this year by the Iredell County Sheriff's department going 128mph (205km/h) in a 45mph (72km/h) zone. Busch was caught in a brand-new Lexus LFA he had taken to test drive for 24-hours.

Oh NASCAR…Driver Steve Wallace gets his Hair Pulled from a Crew Chief

If you though hair pulling is a girls sport only, then you probably missed out on the events that took place at last Saturday's NAPA 200 race in Montreal, Canada.

It all started when Nationwide Series driver Steve Wallace came in contact with Canadian driver Patrick Carpentie on a very tight corner sending him spinning out of the race.

Carpentie, who was running for Pastrana Waltrip Racing, had previously announced plans to end his 27-year motorsport career after the Montreal race. Understandably, this wasn't the way Carpentie or his crew wanted him to retire so tempers were at the flashpoint.

Video: A Lap of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in a Mazda MX-5 GT

The Ardennes Forest in Belgium is famous not just for the failed German offensive against the Allied forces, which signaled the beginning of the end for World War II and the fall of the Third Reich, but also for its Spa-Francorchamps circuit that is a place closely linked with Formula 1.

Spa includes one of the championship's most demanding corners, the flat-out Eau Rouge. With the F1 teams heading to Ardennes for the Belgium GP on August 26, Mazda has released a video with its race driver Mike Ticehurst guiding us through a lap behind the wheel of a 275HP MX-5 GT.

You can watch it right after the jump.

Why Overtaking Returned in Formula 1 This Season

In recent years, Formula 1 had turned boring. Each F1 race became a tedious process with almost no overtaking and pit strategies were more important than the actual driving on the racetrack.

This year, however, things have changed dramatically. We are finally watching true racing: wheel-to-wheel battles, rapid changes in the classification, unexpected results and, most of all, overtaking – and plenty of it. And this despite the fact that Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing are even more dominant than Schumi and the Scuderia at their best.

Porsche Unveils 2012 MY 911 GT3 Cup Racer

The all-new 911, code-named 991, may be just around the corner with its debut coming next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but that doesn’t mean that Porsche is done with the soon-to-be-replaced 997.

“Boiler Room” Director Involved in Formula 1 Movie Project

Movies about car racing are not a flourishing genre. Despite some sporadic successes such as the 1971 “Le Mans” film with Steve McQueen and the gorgeous Porsche 917, we all remember “Driven” starring Sylvester Stallone sitting behind the wheel of an Indycar, in plain clothes, at night, chasing his teammate through traffic after stealing the cars from a gala. What a nightmare…

In recent years, there’s been a lot of talk about making a movie about Formula 1. And mostly about one of its most tragic heroes: Ayrton Senna. Hollywood hotshots such as directors Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard and actor Tobie “Spiderman” Maguire were, at one point or another, linked to the film. However, Bernie Ecclestone’s financial demands, among other things, didn’t let any project come to fruition.

F1: Ferrari Gives Up on 2011 Championship to Prepare Next Year’s Car

Truth to be said, Scuderia Ferrari had a bad start in the F1 season this year. Nevertheless, changes to the personnel and, more importantly, to the Ferrari F1 car's aerodynamic package gradually improved its pace considerably, yielding a win in Great Britain and four podium finishes for Fernando Alonso.

But even with Felippe Massa saying that nothing's over and Luca di Montezemolo claiming that he expects more wins in 2011, team principal Stefano Domenicali revealed to the Telegraph that the Scuderia will stop developing this year’s car in September.

F1: Ferrari's Montezemolo Expects More Wins this Season

Ferrari president, Luca di Montezemolo, has stated that he expects the Scuderia to win more races this season. And this despite the fact that in the 11 first races of the year they have won only once, with Fernando Alonso in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Alonso lies fourth at the Drivers’ championship and his teammate Fernando Massa sixth, trailing championship leader Sebastian Vettel by 89 and 164 points respectively with just eight races remaining. In the Constructors’ championship, Ferrari is in third position, with 215 points, trailing Red Bull (383) and McLaren (280).
